Maksym
Maksym had to grow up faster than he should have, as the war took his father away.
In the years without his dad by his side, many things have happened, but Maksym feels his absence most strongly now. The boy realized that not all neighbors are kind and that the world is not as simple as it once seemed.
Maksym had a good relationship with his father. His only regret is that he didn’t spend enough time with him and couldn’t learn everything his father wanted to teach him.
Today, Maksym is studying, working, and preparing to get his driver’s license. Among his recent achievements are strong academic results that allowed him to regain his scholarship, as well as passing the driving theory exam.
Maksym says that the support of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund has played a big role in his life. It helped him both in his studies and in everyday life. For him, every bit of support was a reminder that there are people who truly care about his story and his future.
Maksym says: “When you lose someone you love, the beginning is the hardest. Over time, warm memories remain. People say that time heals, but in reality, we simply learn how to keep living. What matters most is to remember those we have lost.”
He also adds: “Don’t hold grudges against your loved ones. Make peace while you still can, because life can change in a single moment. Hug your family today.”
