Daria and her family are from the Zaporizhzhya of Ukraine. On the 2nd of March, her village was invaded by a heavily equipped 200-man Russian unit. The unit searched each and every house in her village for civilians and when they got to her family’s house they saw that the occupants inside were her and her ailing mother, the invaders interrogated Daria and her mother, and as the interrogations continued a shot was heard outside. Daria’s mother ran outside and saw her husband’s lifeless body laying on the ground. The invaders prevented Daria and her mother from coming close to the body of her father and forbid them from leaving the house, only after three days of detention and interrogation were they allowed to go to her father and bury his remains. Daria and her mother have since been displaced and left their native village due to her ailing mothers need for cancer treatment.
