The future of Ukrainian-language YouTube: UA Tubers School train 31 beneficiaries from the Foundation
The Children of Heroes CF beneficiaries have been studying at UA Tubers School for a month to improve their skills on the platform and learn how to generate and implement their creative ideas.
Ukrainian-language YouTube began to develop rapidly with the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to the Content Analysis Center, the number of Ukrainian-language content on YouTube has grown the most over the past year with a 40% increase in 2023 compared to 2022.
From more than 7,500 beneficiaries of the Children of Heroes Foundation, there are various requests for education and development, one of the foundation’s most extensive assistance programs. As part of this program, the foundation has provided children with the gadgets and classes they need to study: courses in acting, IT, foreign languages, among other fields. Thanks to its partner, UA Tubers School, children also had the opportunity to learn how to blog on YouTube.
Children aged 11 to 18 completed 8 training modules. Each consisted of video lessons, text materials, presentations, homework, and tests to check what they had learned. The teachers were actors, bloggers, radio and TV hosts Olena and Dmytro Hrytsai.
As a bonus, they received an hour-long acting master class from Lesya Ostrovska, and a lecture on the Ukrainian language from Lisa Maiska, where they analyzed common mistakes, pronunciation, and many other exciting things. The organizers promised to continue supporting those who want to become bloggers and create their own channels.
Children of Heroes CF beneficiaries, who have been trained by UA Tubers School, are now actively developing their content on Youtube. Here is a list of YouTube channels they created:
AngelVlog
This is the channel of 14-year-old Anzhelika from Kamianske, Dnipro region. Angel likes to talk about her life, make videos, and share her dreams and experiences.
RockStasy
The channel is all about 18-year-old Anastasia Lymar. She is fond of drawing and painting various things. During the war, Nastia started painting Ukrainian flags and sending them to our military to boost their morale. Her channel features her journey to becoming a professional electric guitar player. She is confident these videos will be helpful for those who want to master this musical instrument.
Mystical.Stories
This channel, created by 13-year-old Daria from the Odesa region, can be quite different and a little scary. It contains videos about mythical creatures that our ancestors believed in. These are based on myths and legends. She gets creative by recording her brother’s voice, and adding effects to make it sound as close as possible to the style of mystical stories.
