Sustaining the needs of children in times of uncertainty: Children of Heroes CF presents assistance programmes for 2024 to partners

On the 30th & 31st of January, representatives of the Charity Fund Children of Heroes held an online meeting with their Ukrainian and foreign partners to discuss the impact of the Foundation’s work in 2023, and the plans for 2024.
The Fund beneficiaries received $6.2 million worth of assistance in 2023 under the following programmes: humanitarian support, emergency financial aid, education and development, psychological rehabilitation and socialization, medical support, holiday gifts, among other support in the past year.
As of the end of January 2024, more than 7,700 children who lost their parents due to the full-scale war are under the care of the Foundation. This number is expected to grow to 13,000 by the end of the year, with 10-15 children joining the Fund every day.
Family helpers remain the largest part of the team. The Fund continues to improve its system to provide quality and comprehensive support to the rapidly growing number of children.
This year, psychological rehabilitation will be one of the priorities of the Fund, as it remains crucial to many children affected by the armed invasion. The Fund also plans to expand educational opportunities for its beneficiaries.
During the meeting, four of the Fund beneficiaries shared their personal accounts of their experiences of war and loss. They also talked about the support they received, and the positive impact of the Children of Heroes Fund on their lives.
Children of Heroes remains grateful for the generous support of partners and donors both in Ukraine and other parts of the world. The Fund looks forward to strengthening these partnerships and cooperation for the future of Ukrainian children.
