From the beginning of the war, two-year-old Sofiyka’s father, Volodymyr, defended Ukraine and bravely resisted the Russian onslaught. He was positive he would return home to his loving family and to the home he had just built for them. On March 31st, Volodymyr was killed by enemy mortar fire in the eastern Donetsk region.
Sofiyka attends preschool and enjoys dancing, drawing and singing; activities all children her age should get to enjoy. Though her mother is eager to support her daughter and raise her to be a creative and happy little girl, her father won’t be able to see what a wonderful young woman she will one day become.
