Uber and Children of Heroes Raise Funds for Children Who Lost Their Parents During the War

Ukraine, May 2023 – Uber and the Children of Heroes Charitable Fund have launched a joint fundraising campaign for children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. Until June 1st, International Children’s Day, the Uber app in Ukraine will offer a special UberX for Сhildren option that donates 10 hryvnias ($0.27 USD) from the cost of each ride to support the children under the care of Children of Heroes. Uber has also enabled direct donations through the app.
The new ride option is available throughout May in Ukraine’s largest cities. To order a charity ride, users need to select the UberX for Children option in the menu after setting their destination. Additionally, Uber passengers can join the fundraiser by clicking the “UberX for Children Rides” banner on the app’s home page. By clicking the banner, users will be directed to a donation form where they can support the Children of Heroes Charitable Fund directly.
“Every child deserves to have a happy childhood and both parents. The Children of Heroes Charitable Fund helps its beneficiaries find their way in a world deprived of this. Thanks to the UberX for Children option in the app, we can support the foundation’s work by doing everyday things like ordering a ride. I’m proud of this and happy that we can fulfill our mission to change the world through this initiative,” commented Kateryna Netymenko, Uber Country Manager for Ukraine and the Baltic States.
“Children’s Day is a great occasion to support those who need the most help now: children who have lost their parents due to military aggression. They are the most vulnerable in the face of war, so we are grateful to Uber for their charitable initiative to raise funds for the needs of the wards of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund, which currently supports more than 4,400 children,” said Anna Khomenko, Head of the Department for Working with Families Affected by Military Aggression at the “Children of Heroes” Fund.
The cooperation with the “Children of Heroes” Charitable Fund is part of Uber’s efforts to support Ukraine during the war. We are very grateful to our partners for their support!
