Oleksandr

9-year-old Oleksandr’s family are originally from Bucha. The family, a mother, father and their young son, were well on their way to building a happy and fulfilling present and a joyful and loving tomorrow for their little boy until the Russian invaders infiltrated their town. The soldiers came to the family’s home and shot Oleksandr’s father in their yard.

Their lives have changed dramatically since the invasion, though Oleksandr and his mother have managed to survive. They currently live abroad, though they hope to return home to a peaceful and stable environment soon. He is currently studying remotely at a Ukrainian school with a laptop provided by the Children of Heroes Charity Fund. Upon receiving the laptop, Oleksandr quickly began to learn German and programming, while also attending online sessions with a psychologist. The Foundation helped him with warm clothes for the winter and provided him with an opportunity to attend a camp abroad in Spain. Oleksandr now has a love of learning and a better outlook on life, which the Fund has been thrilled to help him with.

Arsen and Oksana

Oksana and Arsen Korolchuk lost their breadwinner father, Volodymyr, in the war, while their mother, Svitlana, is seriously ill. The family is forced to live in an unfinished house.

Svitlana worked all her life with her husband to build their own home. Their dream came true when they bought a house in Volyn and moved there with their children. With their father’s skilled hands, he managed to renovate the living room and the bathroom. But when the russian war broke out, Volodymyr was among those who died as a hero, leaving behind an unfinished home.

Now, Svitlana is raising Oksana and Arsen on her own. Due to serious health problems and lack of money, she cannot afford to continue with the house renovations. After her first operation, she miraculously started walking, and recently underwent another operation. Currently, the Korolchuk family lives in an unfinished house, where they struggle to cook in the bathroom and sleep in the same living room.

The fund helped:

  • The family received priority financial support
  • The children received gifts from the Foundation on Children's Day.
  • Daughter Oksana received a cash gift on her birthday.
  • Son Arsen will receive a tablet in the coming days.
