The Shelves of Care visually reflect just a part of these everyday needs.
You don’t have to cover everything – just give what you can. If your support changes

Sophia and Anna, both 9 years old, are best friends from New Jersey, USA. Anna's father is Ukrainian American. During their summer break, the two girls came up with the idea of making and selling bracelets to raise funds for kids in Ukraine. They walked around their neighborhood with a poster and their handmade products, knocked on doors, and talked to their neighbors. One morning, they made over $40, which they decided to donate to Children of Heroes.
From one Finnish woman who lost her father in the war against the same enemy in 1944, 79 years ago. We all hoped: never again. Thank you for this fund that I can contribute to!
Some nights, I cry for the people in Ukraine. Why are there death, destruction, and devastation all across the world? Why can’t the people of the world just live in harmony and have fun? Humans are supposed to be the most intelligent of all creatures, yet it is us who are intent on killing each other and the world in which we live.
I give to Children of Heroes because, as a psychologist in the US, I know that war – instigated by a madman who believes his Russian Empire has the right to murder and plunder a free nation and crush democracy – leaves more destruction than just dead soldiers in its path. Children of war need support, love, mental health programs, and hope. Children of Heroes provides stability to children living in the rubble of a war they did not create and cannot resolve.
Raised by my daughters Sofia (8) and Maya (6), selling some of their toys with the help of their neighbor Emilia (9). They wanted to do what they could to help children in Ukraine who are in need. We send them our love, support, and a bit of cash.
Program Overview
We offer a range of assistance programs tailored to each child's needs with a personal approach at the core. Through the Family Case Management Program, every family has someone to turn to for any support.
Family Case Management Program
Case Managers and Family Support Specialists guide every family from the first call onward. Support is coordinated across all areas of need, and no request goes unanswered.
Humanitarian aid
Provision of essential items for children based on their age, including food packages, clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and holiday gifts.
Education and development
Learning support through tutoring, language courses, IT training, creative classes, and career guidance, as well as gadgets to help children study in any conditions.
Medical care
Access to medical consultations, tests, treatment, vision care, insurance, vitamins, and first-aid kits, ensuring children’s well-being and healthy development.
Psychology and socialisation
Emotional support through individual and group therapy, camps, and events that help children cope with loss, build resilience, and reconnect with peers.
