Children of Heroes Charity Fund Officially Granted Social Service Provider Status

On April 29, 2025, the Children of Heroes Charity Fund achieved significant state-level recognition by receiving the status of a social service provider under the Law of Ukraine “On Social Services.”
This decision is not merely a formal step, but also a symbol of the state’s trust in the Fund. From now on, the Children of Heroes CF has legal confirmation that, within the framework of supporting children who have lost one or both parents as a result of the war, it provides social services including:
- information provision;
- сonsultation;
- social prevention;
- social support for families raising orphans and children deprived of parental care;
- in-kind assistance;
- socio-psychological rehabilitation;
- social integration and reintegration;
- social support for families/individuals in difficult life circumstances.
Obtaining the status of a social service provider has also opened up additional opportunities for the Fund:
- increased trust: the official provider status enhances the organization’s reputation, both with state bodies and international donors, who often require confirmed status;
- access to state and local funding: the Fund can now receive funds from state/local budgets and participate in tenders, competitions, and public-private partnerships;
- advantage in grant applications: the ability to submit grant applications specifically aimed at social service providers strengthens our position in the eyes of grantmakers;
- institutionalization of aid: support becomes part of the official social infrastructure.
This status also serves as confirmation of the Fund’s team’s professionalism. During the review process, it was verified that the specialists at the Children of Heroes Charity Fund possess the relevant education and experience, and that internal processes comply with state standards. This enables the formation of long-term partnerships and work towards creating a sustainable system of support for children who have lost parents due to the war.
