Viktoria and Solomiya

Viktoria and Solomiya are from the Chernihiv region in the northeast of Ukraine. Prior to the war, their mother knitted soft toys to support the family while their father, a proud military officer, often took part in missions. During the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended his family and countrymen against the invading army. Tragically, his life was cut short on the battlefield.

Having suddenly lost their father, the children lost hope for a better future. The eldest daughter, Victoria, was especially traumatized by the loss and was offered a visit to a camp in Spain by The Children of Heroes Charity Fund in order to provide her with psychological care. Her mother agreed to the offer, particularly as Victoria had one day dreamed of one day seeing more of the world. She attended classes with psychologists at the camp, returning home with new interests and hobbies.

Victoria and Solomiya’s mother has one goal: do everything possible to make her children feel happy and confident. With the support of the Fund, she will be able to do just that.

In addition to receiving support from psychologists, the family has received home electronics, a heater, warm clothes, shoes and an opportunity for Victoria to learn English through a remote educational platform, which will surely set her up for future success and help her realize her goal of seeing even more of the world.
