Educational Programs, ‘Svitlyachok’ Camp, and Culinary Masterclasses: How ‘Oleyna’ is Supporting Children of Heroes
Since the start of its collaboration with the Children of Heroes Charity Fund, the ‘Oleyna’ brand has supported the Fund’s beneficiaries, having already provided charitable aid totaling 6,880,000 UAH. These funds have been directly invested in the development of children who have lost one or both parents due to the war, helping them feel cared for and secure about their future.
Since April of this year, the charitable assistance has also been directed towards educational programs. Thanks to this support, the children have attended over 2,100 learning sessions—from individual foreign language tutoring to creative courses and math lessons. Another significant area of support for the children has been the organization of the ‘Svitlyachok’ (Firefly) Camp, which hosted 80 mothers and children. There, participants not only rested and recharged but also took part in a psychological support program, which included creative culinary masterclasses.
Culinary masterclasses for the Fund’s beneficiaries hold a special place in the partnership. From April to September of this year, 10 masterclasses were held at Yevhen Chernukha’s culinary school as part of the “Oleyna—For Children. Cooking with Love” project. Here, the Fund’s beneficiaries, alongside professional chefs, cooked European, Georgian, and Asian dishes, learned to create desserts, and discovered new culinary traditions. These gatherings became more than just an opportunity for the children to gain new skills; they also provided a vital space for socializing with peers and for emotional recovery.
The Fund is grateful to the ‘Oleyna’ brand because this partnership is not just about providing charitable aid, but is a true collaboration that helps our beneficiaries grow, learn, and recover. Together, we are creating an environment for the Children of Heroes where there is a constant belief that support is always close at hand.
