Over UAH 150,000 for Summer Camps: A Look Back at the Charity Contest on “MasterChef 16”
On September 7, a new episode of the culinary show “MasterChef 16” aired, featuring a charity contest at Kyiv’s VDNKh exhibition center. Participants cooked outdoors, and all proceeds from the sale of their dishes were directed to the “Children of Heroes” CF. The event successfully raised UAH 151,351 to organize summer camps for children who have lost one or both parents due to the war.
Among the guests at VDNKh was Irynka Vasylieva, a beneficiary of the Fund. After losing her father at the age of six, the young girl chose to follow in his footsteps. She is now an active volunteer, hand-weaving wreaths and selling them at fairs to raise money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Her efforts have already helped purchase five thermal imaging cameras and seven vehicles for the frontline.
Irynka was delighted to participate and shared her impressions, noting that it was not only a chance to enjoy delicious food but also a powerful symbol of support and unity.
“Children who have lost one or both parents as a result of the war need psychological recovery. Summer camps offer them a chance to be with their peers, feel supported, and regain a sense of self-belief. We are sincerely grateful to the ‘MasterChef’ team and all the guests for their compassion and for helping us create such vital opportunities for our beneficiaries,” said Valeriia Abdal, co-founder of the “Children of Heroes” CF.
The Fund is thankful to everyone who supports the children of heroes and helps make their childhood brighter. The “Children of Heroes” CF currently cares for over 14,100 children, with approximately 70 new children joining the Fund’s care each week. As the war continues, your help remains critically important. Every contribution brings these children closer to the safe and happy future they deserve.
