History of the foundation

The Children of Heroes Foundation was established on 3 March 2022. This was conceptualized by businessman Danylo Pasko, who lost his own father when he was a child. Danylo formed a team that shared his values and desire to help children who lost one or both parents in the large-scale war. The idea was supported by other Ukrainians, public figures and entrepreneurs. In April 2022, the foundation started its official work.

Development and achievements

Development and achievements

It all started with a small number of families who needed help. It was important to build a relationship of trust with them and show them that they could count on us.

That's how the position of a Family Assistant came about - a person who interacts directly with the family, identifies their needs and helps to solve them.

The Foundation was initially funded by the co-founders, and ss the number of children grew, partners and donors from different countries joined in. As a result, the Foundation improved its operations. We were featured in the media, and more families recommended us to each other.

By May 2024, more than 9000 children were under the care of the Children of Heroes Foundation. Unfortunately, the war continues and the number of children continues to grow.

Funding

Today, the Foundation exists all thanks to charitable donations from caring individuals, Ukrainian and foreign companies, and international organizations. These contributions help improve the lives of Ukrainian children in need.

All reports on the activities of the "Children of Heroes" organization can be found on our website and in social networks.

The annual cost of access to all programmes for one child is approximately 200,000 UAH.

We do our best to provide everything necessary for each child. However, with limited resources and a growing number of beneficiaries, we have started to adopt a needs-based approach. This means that the Foundation gives priority to families in the most difficult circumstances, who are unable to meet their basic needs on their own.

REPRESENTATIVE OFFICES IN THREE COUNTRIES

To strengthen control over the Foundation's activities and ensure transparency of its work, we have set up a Supervisory Board in Ukraine. This is made up of highly qualified managers and a former beneficiary of the Foundation who directly represents the interests of the families helped by the Foundation.

The Children of Heroes Foundation also has representative offices in the United States and the Netherlands. In each of these countries, a Board of Directors has been established to ensure the effective management of the Foundation's activities on an international level.

OUR INSPIRATION

Every day we hear the stories of children who have lost their loved ones to war and have become part of the foundation. These are stories of resilience, courage and faith in a better future. You can find some of them in the Stories section of our website.

Our mission is to do everything possible to ensure that each of these stories leads to a happy outcome. To help as many children in Ukraine as possible stand strong despite the challenging circumstances, and to feel whole and happy. After all, these children are our future!
