Uber and it’s users raised over half a million hryvnias for children who have lost their parents to the war
Uber and the Children of Heroes CF have raised almost 560,000 UAH for children who have lost one or both parents to the war. Throughout May, Uber users had the option of donating UAH 10 of the ride cost to the foundation’s kids and transfer this amount to the organization’s account through the app.
Uber, together with the Children of Heroes Charity Foundation, launched the UberX for Children charity ride service on International Children’s Day. In May, almost 6,000 people used the option and raised UAH 58,600. To support as many of the foundation’s children as possible who have become orphans as a result of the war, Uber has donated an additional UAH 500,000.
We are pleased to see how many people have joined our charity fundraiser in favor of children who need maximum support. We hope that by increasing the donations to UAH 560,000, we will allow them to relax and prepare for the new school year. We sincerely thank everyone who joined the initiative,” says Kateryna Netymenko, Uber Country Manager for Ukraine and the Baltic States.
“The mission of the Children of Heroes CF is to ensure that the children under its care receive comprehensive support and feel loved and protected even in the most difficult circumstances. Funds raised through this project will be used for various child support programs, including external assistance, psychological and humanitarian support, quality education, socialization, etc. Our goal is to be a reliable support for our children because every child deserves love, support, and opportunities for development,” says Anna Khomenko, Head of the Department for Work with Affected Families.
