The Physical and Psychological Effects on Ukrainian Children During War

The Russian Federation’s decision to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 has profoundly impacted Ukrainian children who have been subjected to traumatic experiences resulting in short and long-term physical or psychological effects. Understanding war’s physical and psychological effects is critical to understanding how Children of Heroes, as well as the public and private sectors, can unite to support Ukrainian children.  

 Today, the GorStra Research Group, a humanitarian advisory group aiming to improve the understanding of the roots of conflict worldwide, released findings about the effects of war on Ukrainian children in their comprehensive report, The Physical and Psychological Effects of the War in Ukraine on Children. This report highlights the psychological and physical trauma experienced by Ukrainian children in detail. Children of Heroes is deeply grateful to the GorStra Research Group for this important contribution to our work with Ukrainian children and families.
