Sustained Support from the Online Restaurant Chain; Sushi Icons: why regular donations, no matter the size, are essential for a charitable foundation
Sushi Icons, an online Japanese restaurant, has achieved significant success in its relatively short 6 years of existence, growing from a single location in Kharkiv to a chain of restaurants in Dnipro, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa, and Warsaw.
Despite the challenging times, the SUSHI ICONS team continues to work and volunteer, experimenting with new concepts and formats and joining various social projects and charitable initiatives.
Recently, they entered into the European market – the first SUSHI ICONS abroad is already operating in Warsaw. The team has also enriched the gastronomic life of Lviv and Kharkiv with new formats.
Some of the restaurant chain’s employees are bravely defending the country on the frontlines, and some sadly gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine.
The SUSHI ICONS team believes that Ukrainians today need exceptional support, so it is essential for every business to contribute and support different segments of the population. Given that children are the most vulnerable, the restaurant chain has consistently supported the Children of Heroes Charity Fund. Since November 2022, they have transferred more than UAH 150,000, donating UAH 10 from each Philadelphia roll to the fund.
“It is hard to imagine how much suffering children who lost their parents in the war have endured. We want to make their childhood a little bit happier. It is impossible to hold back the tears when reading the stories of our children. Our help is the least we can do for them,” a spokesperson for Sushi Icons says.
At the beginning of the war, the online restaurant chain was thinking about establishing its charity fund. But since this is a rather complicated business that requires a lot of time and effort, they decided to continue to do their core business of cooking food and transferring donations to the Children of Heroes CF.
“Stable support is very crucial, as the needs of children are constantly growing. It’s nice to work with the idea that your business can benefit society, especially regarding children. Every hryvnia we raise turns into toys, medicines, hygiene products, and other things kids need. It’s motivating!” says Yevheniia Ruden, Sushi Icons marketing manager.
SUSHI ICONS recommends choosing one fund and supporting it steadily. They believe every hryvnia is valuable now, so it is better to donate any amount, but steadily. We must be socially responsible during the war, so we urge you to work, help, and bring Ukraine’s victory closer! – said the Sushi Icons team.
