Yulia Petruchenko
About myself
My name is Yulia Petruchenko, I am 23 years old. I am completely in love with my country and happy I was born Ukrainian. I have a degree in law, but I found my calling in helping people.
Why am I in the fund?
I joined the Fund in June, 2022. Currently, each of us is living through a timeline we were not prepared for. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I couldn’t simply stay at home. When I discovered the Fund and its programs, I was impressed by its long-term goal. I immediately realized I had to join it because no child should be left alone after the loss of their parents due to the war.
How many families do you take care of?
Currently, I care for 39 children from 25 families and coordinate some partner projects to help children. Each family is different, but they all have one thing in common: the loss of a loved one. With my families, I rejoice in the children’s success in education and sports and live through their sad moments. Thanks to the Fund’s activities, I can support families and help children in their time of need and become a true friend to them. For me, this is not just a job but a part of my life. I am sure that I am in the right place.
