Children of Heroes Played in Charity Match “Goal for Good” Alongside FC Dynamo Footballer and Ukrainian Stars
On May 16, a charity football match titled “Goal for Good” took place in Kyiv. The event was initiated by Natalia Solonik, host of the “Closer to the Stars” program on TET TV channel and mentor of the “Make a Dream Come True” project by 1+1 media. The goal of the event was to support children who have lost one or both parents due to the war and to inspire them to achieve new things.
Ukrainian artists, FC Dynamo midfielder Taras Mykhavko, and beneficiaries of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund joined the charity initiative. Thirteen children under the Fund’s care participated in the football match. For many of them, it was their first opportunity to play on the same field with a professional athlete and stars of the Ukrainian stage.
On the field, the children met with artists Brykulets, Muayad, Enleo, Blockbaby, as well as choreographer Maks Leonov. This form of team play helped the participants not only spend time actively but also feel supported.
The match was solemnly opened with the Ukrainian anthem performed by Artem Kotenko, a young singer who represented Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2024. Supporting the players from the stands were families also under the Fund’s care, and Nikita Dobrynin, Natalia Solonik’s co-host on “Closer to the Stars” on TET and mentor of the “Make a Dream Come True” project.
After the game, all participants received gifts from FC Dynamo and commemorative “Goal for Good” gold medals. The children also had the chance to take photos with Taras Mykhavko and other “star” players to remember this unforgettable day.
Such initiatives are important for the emotional recovery of children who have experienced loss. They promote socialization, help children believe in their own abilities, build new friendships, and simply enjoy life.
