A Celebration of Inspiration and Sport: Ivano-Frankivsk Hosts Another Event within the “Intersport – Children of Heroes” Project
In early October, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted a vibrant and touching event, “Intersport – Children of Heroes,” which brought together 60 children who have lost one or both parents due to the war with Ukrainian athletes and Olympians. The event was organized by “Epicenter” and “Intersport” in collaboration with the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC) and the “Children of Heroes” Charity Fund.
The participants had the opportunity to try their hand at various sports, including boxing, gymnastics, football, basketball, judo, and badminton. They were joined by real champions—Ukrainian Olympians—who shared their experience, motivating the children to never give up and to believe in themselves.
Among the honored guests were:
- Kateryna Dubrovina, Sydney Olympics Silver Medalist;
- Servin Suleymanov, Master of Sport in Boxing;
- Iryna Shepetiuk, Olympic Games Participant in Athletics;
- Valeriy Litaniuk, Halyna Obleshchuk, and others.
The celebration was filled with smiles, movement, and genuine emotions. Every child received not only a boost of inspiration but also gifts, including bicycles, sports equipment, inventory, and memorable prizes. But the main gift was belief: belief in themselves, in their own potential, and in the prospect of new victories ahead.
Natalia, the mother of a Fund’s beneficiary who attended the event, shared her impressions: “A huge thank you from our family. The gifts are wonderful, my child is thrilled! In this difficult time for the country, you have found the resources to help children and offer warm support.”
Ivano-Frankivsk became the sixth city to host this charitable sports project. Similar events have previously taken place in Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Kyiv, and Vinnytsia, with over 500 Children of Heroes having participated in total.
The Fund is sincerely grateful to its partners for their support, which provides our beneficiaries with confidence, inspiration, and belief in their own strength.
