A Book That Offers Knowledge and Support: A Joint Project by Old Lion Publishing House and YASNO

Old Lion Publishing House (VSL) and YASNO have launched a joint educational and charity project, which resulted in the publication of Dr. Shini Somara’s book, “Energy: The Science All Around Us.” The book introduces children and adults to various types of energy and how they are used. It also serves a charitable purpose: 20 hryvnias from the sale of each copy will be donated to the “Children of Heroes” Charity Fund, which assists children who have lost one or both parents due as a result of the war.

“This project is a wonderful example of cooperation that has once again reminded the world about Ukraine, its people, and their resilience. We are grateful that, together with the British publisher Macmillan, we can simultaneously spread knowledge and kindness,” shared Vita Yevstifeieva, Copyright Manager at Old Lion Publishing House.

The book explains, in simple terms, how the energy around us works and contains a number of engaging experiments and examples that can be replicated at home.

“No matter how difficult the times we are experiencing, the greatest warmth is generated when we help each other. By choosing this book, you are also supporting the children of our Heroes,” noted Serhiy Kovalenko, CEO of YASNO.

Currently, the “Children of Heroes” Charity Fund cares for over 14,300 children, with nearly 80 new beneficiaries joining the Fund  every week. Therefore, initiatives like this are highly significant in providing long-term support to families affected by the war.

For us, it is especially valuable when kindness and knowledge are combined in a single effort. The book ‘Energy: The Science All Around Us’ not only introduces children to science but also provides them with tangible support.
