Children of Heroes Charity Fund Receives the Honorary Award “Creator of Ukrainian Military Culture” at the “Steel Word” Forum
On November 29, the Children of Heroes Charity Fund was awarded the honorary title “Creator of Ukrainian Military Culture” — a distinction that highlights the importance of our mission and our contribution to supporting children affected by the war.
The first All-Ukrainian Military Culture Forum “Steel Word,” held in Poltava on November 21–23, brought together veteran authors, service members, publishers, journalists, and cultural figures to showcase the power of Ukrainian expression forged by war. During the forum, awards were presented to artists, writers, volunteers, medical workers, public officials, military brands, and soldiers — all those who demonstrate daily that Ukrainian military culture is a culture of action, responsibility, and mutual support.
Our Fund, which served as a partner of the forum, received its award from Mark Melnyk, Commander of the Korunzhyi Service of the Lubart Brigade, the unit that initiated the event. On behalf of our entire team, Oksana Zhuravel accepted the distinction, presenting our mission and work to the forum participants. Additionally, attendees of the first All-Ukrainian Military Culture Forum received diplomas as its founding contributors.
The individuals honored at the forum have spent years shaping an accurate historical perspective, creating works that inspire thousands of Ukrainians to act with dignity, and contributing to state policies aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s armed forces and building an effective veteran support system. Their work helps combat veterans return to civilian life, realize their potential, and integrate their combat experience into the nation’s shared system of values.
This award is our shared victory. It reaffirms that the daily work of the Fund carries deep meaning, brings real change, and supports children who have endured the most profound losses.
We are grateful to each of you for your dedication, professionalism, and compassion. Together, we are shaping a culture of strength and empathy.
