Recently, the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH 2024) took place in Qatar. Organized by the Qatar Foundation, this event brought together over 2,000 leaders in medicine, policy, research, and entrepreneurship to discuss global healthcare challenges. This year, special attention was dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly children affected by armed conflicts.
As part of the conference, an exhibition showcased children’s drawings from countries experiencing the horrors of war. Ukraine was represented by eight works created by the beneficiaries of the Children of Heroes Charity Fund. Each drawing tells the unique story of a child who lost one or both parents due to the war. These pieces convey pain, fear, and loss but also great resilience, hope for peace, and aspirations for a happy future.
This exhibition served as an essential step in raising global awareness about the tragedy faced by Ukrainian children left without parental support because of the war. Presenting the works of the Children of Heroes’ beneficiaries at such events provides an opportunity to share their stories with the world, attract new partners, and secure the necessary resources for long-term support.
