HIGHLIGHTS OF THE POLICY PLAN

Object and activities of Stichting Children of Heroes of Ukraine

Objective

Our goal is to provide long-term and multi-faceted support to children (and their families), aged 0 to 18, who have lost one or both parents as a result of the russian military aggression against Ukraine that has taken place since February 24, 2022. Many children have had to abandon their homes and communities due to this aggression, have lost one or both parents, and as a result are also victims of this tragedy.

Vision

Our vision is to ultimately enable the children we support to live happy, healthy and successful lives.

Values

Our core values are:

• Do not harm (the children);
• Take a non-singular approach;
• Deliver a long-term and tangible impact.

How are we achieving our objectives?

Stichting of Children of Ukraine will achieve its objectives in the coming years by setting up and financing support programs for the benefit of the target group of the Foundation and all other lawful means and actions, which may be conducive to achieving the objective or are related to it in the broadest sense.

Support of our target group will take place, in particular by providing direct help and financial contributions, for:

Emergency Support: initial financial and medical aid, as well as providing housing and home repair, including evacuation;
Humanitarian Aid: ensures that basic needs are met during childhood, including food, housing, legal and other advice/counselling;
Education and Development: provides children with education, language courses, tutoring, developmental courses, equipment and supplies for learning, extracurricular activities, mentorship, career guidance and other developmental activities;
Healthcare: covers children's medical costs, including psychological support;
Socialization: provide opportunities for participation in social events, summer camps, travel in Ukraine and abroad;
• Other help and assistance to the children and their families.

Fundraising

The foundation is a non-profit organization that is dependent on funding and contributions from third-parties. To enable us to carry out our objectives and support the children, we raise funds from individuals, companies and other organizations in Ukraine and other European countries. We achieve this by leveraging the business and private networks of the members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board, other charitable institutions in Europe, through the internet, social media and through working with cooperating partners.

These contributions can be in the form of:
• Gifts and donations
• Endowments, bequests and testamentary dispositions (under the benefit of inventory)
• Sponsor funds
• Grants
• Income from fundraising activities
• Other income and any proceeds thereof

Management of the assets of the foundation

The assets of the foundation are managed by the board. Given the objective of our foundation, the funds received will be spent within one to two years on our goals and to cover costs of maintaining the foundation.

Expenditures

Our goal requires significant funding. As russian aggression continues, there will be an indefinite need to provide support to new children who require the foundation’s help. For this reason, our focus for the next two years will be on realization of our objectives.

Administration

The foundation is obliged to keep records. These records must show, among other things:

• Which expense allowances and attendance fees have been paid to the individual board members and members of the supervisory board;
• The nature and extent of the costs of fundraising, managing the foundation and other expenses;
• The nature and size of the foundation's income;
• The nature and size of the foundation's assets.

The expenses of the foundation are divided into several categories:
• Expenses for the realization of our support programs through local suppliers and partners and organizations, such as expenses for the purchase of necessary goods, costs of (temporary) housing, expenses to cover medical costs, provision of services and other related needs.
• Operational and administrative costs
