Winter in Wartime
The cold winter season is fast approaching, and to thousands of Ukrainian children who have lost a parent and remain displaced from their homes, this is the harsh reality that threatens their health, safety, and comfort in the months to come.
This year, we hope to rekindle the warmth and share it to 3,300 Ukrainian children who need it the most. The Warmth for Children project is back to provide blankets, winter clothes, heaters and firewood that will give Ukrainian children and their family protection from the harsh weather, and comfort wherever they are.
The Gift of Warmth
One of the children under our care is Stepan, a young boy from Donetsk region. At the onset of the armed invasion in Ukraine, Stepan and his family would hide in the basement of their home, struggling without electricity or gas to keep them warm. Through the Warmth for Children project, Stepan and his family are provided with a heater, and financial support to buy winter clothes they needed to survive the freezing months.
